Assessment of Seismic Performance of the 32 Storeys Residential Buildings and Parking Structure (November 2009 – December 2009)

The residential building designed to be three buildings fully connected. The buildings are the 32 storeys “L” shaped and “T” shaped towers and a 5 storeys parking structure. Due to the continuity and irregularity of the three buildings, full 3D dynamic finite element analyses were conducted using a commercial software package. The results of the analysis are post-processed for the assessment of seismic performance. The redesign of the structural members to enhance the seismic performance and prevent the undesirable damage and failure was performed and suggested.
